How to Record Your Screen With Audio
Record your screen, system audio, and microphone in the browser, then export the video locally without uploading it.
Product demos, online lessons, and bug reports often need both a clear picture and clear sound. AI Toys records and mixes everything locally in your browser, so there is no desktop app to install and no video upload.
Check before you start
- Use a desktop browser that supports screen capture.
- Open the browser tab, window, or screen you plan to share.
- Check your microphone first if you want to narrate.
- System-audio capture depends on your browser, operating system, and selection in the native sharing dialog.
Sharing a browser tab and enabling “Share tab audio” in the browser dialog is usually the most reliable option. The exact wording varies by browser and operating system.
Choose a recording mode
Open the AI Toys Screen Recorder and select the mode that fits your task:
- Screen mode records the shared screen only. It works well for product walkthroughs, bug reports, and software tutorials.
- Teaching mode composites your camera as a picture-in-picture, which is useful for lessons and presenter-led videos.
Teaching mode lets you choose a corner for the camera and move it while recording.
Configure system audio and microphone

The system-audio switch asks the browser for audio, but the browser decides whether a track is actually available. Once recording starts, the page shows the sources it received.
Pick quality and frame rate
For most tutorials, 1080p / 30fps is a good default. Choose 720p / 24fps for a lower-powered device or a long recording, and consider 60fps only for fast motion.
Everyday walkthrough: 1080p / 30fps
Lower-powered device or long session: 720p / 24fps
Fast animation or gameplay: original resolution / 60fps
Higher resolution and frame rate increase file size and device load, and they do not always improve the final result.
Record, review, and export
- Click “Start recording” and choose a source in the browser dialog.
- Check the on-page screen, system-audio, and microphone status.
- Pause when needed, then stop when the walkthrough is complete.
- Play the preview and download the original recording after checking picture and sound.
The browser uses MP4 when its MediaRecorder supports it and falls back to WebM otherwise. That fallback never blocks recording.
Quick publishing checklist
- Remove unnecessary footage at the beginning and end
- Make sure system audio and narration are both clear
- Check the frame for notifications, secrets, or private information
- Review the downloaded file in a local player
